Key finding

The use of major bikeways in South East Queensland increased between 2015 and 2017.

This data indicates the use of the major bikeways in South East Queensland (SEQ). The data is collected from permanent installations that provide 24/7 bicycle counting. This data does not account for all bicycle use in SEQ but is considered indicative of bicycle use trends.

Use of monitored bikeways in SEQ is increasing.

Counts at monitoring sites in SEQ have, on average, increased between 2015 and 2017.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads is installing additional monitoring sites to improve coverage.
