Interstate commercial and industrial waste received

Key Finding

Queensland landfills received about 25,000 tonnes of commercial and industrial waste generated interstate in 2018–19.

Commercial and industrial waste is produced by business and commerce and includes waste from schools, restaurants, offices, retail and wholesale businesses and manufacturing industries.

In 2018–19, about 57,000 tonnes of commercial and industrial waste were received from interstate sources. Approximately 25,000 tonnes (44%) was sent directly to landfills.
