Density of threatened flora species habitat

Key finding
The highest densities of terrestrial threatened flora habitat are found in the South East Queensland, Wet Tropics, Brigalow Belt and New England Tableland bioregions.
Modelling identifies 55 million hectares of pre-clear habitat for 702 currently threatened terrestrial flora species.
High densities of pre-clearing threatened flora habitat remain in the following bioregions:
- South East Queensland
- Wet Tropics
- Brigalow Belt
- New England Tablelands.
Across Queensland, 35% of pre-clearing threatened flora habitat had been cleared by 2015. Of the habitat that was remnant vegetation in 2015, only 11.6% was protected within a National Park.

Density of terrestrial threatened flora habitat across Queensland pre-clearing and remaining as remnant vegetation in 2015, determined by the number of co-occurring flora habitat models. Data is based on Regional Ecosystems (version 10, 2016), species sightings and relevant habitat factors.
